Seorang anak berusia empat tahun di Linquan, Provinsi Anhui, China, harus menjalani operasi gara-gara karet gelang.
Awalnya, nenek dari anak tersebut yang pertama kali menyadari adanya tanda aneh di lengan cucunya. Ada sebuah tanda melingkar yang berada di bawah sikut sang cucu.
Dokter menduga kalau tanda itu disebabkan oleh infeksi atau alergi.
Lama kelamaan, luka tersebut makin bertambah parah dan anak tersebut harus dibawa ke rumah sakit dan diperiksa.
Hasil pemindaian menunjukkan kalau tanda tersebut disebabkan karena adanya benda asing yang masuk ke dalam tangannya.
Benda asing tersebut akhirnya diketahui sebagai gelang yang telah terbungkus oleh daging dan kulitnya.
"Benang tipis dan gelang dapat dengan mudah masuk ke kulit anak-anak," kata Dokter Ye Wensong kepada surat kabar Metro.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa kadang anak-anak di China memakai tali merah tipis atau gelang di sekitar lengan mereka untuk keberuntungan.
Le Le, nama anak tersebut, sepertinya tidak melaporkan pada nenek dan kakeknya ketika karet yang ia pakai mulai menghilang.
Ahli bedah di Sekolah Kedokteran Zhejiang University di Hangzhou pun mengeluarkan gelang tersebut dari kulit anak itu dan saat ini ia dinyatakan sudah sehat.
Gara-gara cerita ini, banyak orang yang merasa ‘geli’ dan segera kasus Le Le menjadi viral di media massa.
