Rasanya belum makan kalau belum makan nasi. Ungkapan kebanyakan orang Indonesia ini tidak berlaku bagi artis yang satu ini.
Artis peran sekaligus penyanyi, Randy Pangalila mengatakan dirinya sudah tidak makan nasi dan mi instan selama tujuh tahun.
"Kalau aku memang udah tujuh tahun enggak makan nasi sama sekali. Mi juga enggak makan. Ada yang bilang 'Lo enggak makan karo?' Enggak juga," ujar Randy.
Tidak makan nasi dan mi, bukan berarti Randy tidak mendapatkan asupan kabrohidrat sama sekali.
"Karena karbohidrat enggak cuma dari nasi dan mi. Aku ambil sumber karbohidrat kompleks dengan mengonsumsi oats, roti gandum, kentang rebus," ucapnya.
"Aku enggak ambil makanan karbohidrat tinggi kayak nasi putih. Mungkin kalau mau makan nasi, aku pilih beras hitam atau beras merah."
Pria yang belum lama ini menjuarai ajang olahraga bela diri Mixed Martial Arts tersebut menganggap apa yang dilakukannya merupakan dari gaya hidupnya.
"Aku tidak menganggap itu sebuah diet, tetapi itu sudah menjadi lifestyle aku, karena aku merasa result aku dapat cukup memuaskan. Buat aku pribadi, kerja keras terbayarkan kenapa enggak diterusin aja."
Meski pernah merasa jenuh dengan makanan yang dikonsumsinya, Randi Pangalila tetap tidak tergoda untuk mencicipi santapan sedap yang tidak sehat menurutnya.
"Jenuh pasti ada. Jangankan makanan ya, kita kerja aja kadang ada jenuhnya. Apalagi makan, setiap hari aku makan makanan yang sama selama tujuh tahun."
"Tapi apa yang aku lakukan itu atas dasar kemauan aku sendiri. Kalau mulai tergoda sama yang enak-enak, jadi akunya sendiri yang kayak 'jangan deh, jangan'," ujarnya.
Tak heran ya, jika dulu Randy Pangalila terlihat berpenampilan funky dan imut-imut, kini penampilan Randy Pangalila amat sangat terlihat macho dan sporty.
