Sebuah truk yang mengangkut rombongan pesilat dari Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) Ranting Manguharjo Kota Madiun terguling hingga masuk ke jurang sedalam 20 meter di Desa Suluk, Kecamatan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun, Jawa Timur, Minggu (29/4).
Akibat kecelakaan tunggal tersebut, seorang penumpang truk atas nama Aris S (47) warga Nambangan Lor Kota Madiun dilaporkan meninggal dunia setelah menjalani perawatan medis di RSUD Soedono Kota Madiun. Sedangkan puluhan penumpang lainnya mengalami luka dan menjalani perawatan di RSUD Dolopo Kabupaten Madiun.
Kanit Laka Polres Ponorogo Ipda Badri, membenarkan kejadian kecelakaan tersebut. Awalnya kecelakaan itu diinformasikan terjadi di wilayah hukum Polres Ponorogo. Namun setelah dilakukan pengecekan, ternyata masuk wilayah Polres Madiun.
"Hasil pemeriksaan sementara, kecelakaan disebabkan sopir truk yang tidak menguasai medan jalan, sehingga salah mengoperasikan rem hingga akhirnya terjun ke jurang. Truk barang ini mengangkut puluhan anggota perguruan silat yang didominasi remaja dan anak-anak," ujar Ipda Badri, seperti dilansir Antara.
Berdasarkan informasi di lapangan, rombongan pesilat PSHT itu hendak pulang setelah melaksanakan kegiatan 'long march' dan pendadaran kenaikan tingkat di Ngebel, Kabupaten Ponorogo. Saat perjalanan pulang, di lokasi kejadian, kendaraan truk itu jatuh ke jurang dengan kedalaman sekitar 20 meter.
Sementara, dari sejumlah korban yang mengalami luka serius, dirujuk ke RSUD Soedono Madiun. Sedangkan sang sopir, Susianto warga Desa Kwangsen Kecamatan Jiwan, Kabupaten Madiun, telah diamankan di Mapolres Madiun untuk kepentingan pemeriksaan.
