Namun, untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut memang diperlukan keberanian. Seperti pada wanita cantik bernama Asta Young ini. Asta terlahir dengan konidisi Dwarfisme sehingga ia hanya memiliki tinggi badan 120 cm.
Dwarfisme merupakan suatu kondisi kelainan yang ditandai dengan tinggi tubuh rendah akibat kelainan medis atau genetis. Dilansir Tribunnews dari Viral Thread, Selasa (8/5/2018), sejak kecil Asta memang cukup berbeda dengan anak seusianya. Wanita yang kini tinggal di Arizona ini mengatakan dirinya selalu berusaha keras untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan sekitar. Namun, orangtua Asta tidak pernah mengatakan dirinya memiliki kekurangan.
"Orangtuaku selalu berkata, 'Kamu hanya terlahir kecil'," ujarnya.
Masa kecil Asta Young bisa dibilang jauh dari kata normal. Wanita yang berprofesi sebagai seniman ini selalu diolok teman-temannya. Mereka mengatakan kaki Asta sangat kecil hingga mempengaruhi rasa percaya dirinya. "Aku ingat dulu sering menangis setelah pulang sekolah. Memang sekarang aku beberapa kali mengalaminya, tapi aku jauh lebih bahagia," jelas wanita bersuami ini. Asta Young berhasil mengatasi rasa mindernya setelah menjadi cosplayer.
Terlebih komunitas cosplay tempat Asta bergabung menerima kondisinya apa adanya. "Aku suka bagaimana komunitas cosplay menerimaku. Tidak ada yang menghakimiku. Tidak ada diskriminasi," jelas Asta. Asta bergabung dengan komunitas Cosplay sekitar 3 atau 4 tahun yang lalu. Hal tersebut berawal dari kekaguman Asta Young saat melihat orang-orang berdandan ala karakter game atau film.
"Saat itu aku berpikir, betapa kerennya bisa berdandan (cosplay) seperti mereka. Akhirnya aku memutuskan bergabung dengan komunitas," tutur Asta. "Saat kamu mengenakan kostum, kamu akan merasa seperti berada di dunia yang berbeda," tambahnya. Berbicara dengan kepercayaan sang istri, suami Asta yang bernama Ty mengakui wanita berusia 25 tahun ini memiliki energi yang positif.
Menurutnya, Asta memiliki kepribadian yang baik dan menarik.
"Dia jatuh cinta padaku karena aku adalah aku," kata Asta. Meski saat Asta Young mengunggah foto dirinya tengah melakukan cosplay, masih banyak orang yang mengkritiknya, ia mengaku tak masalah. "Kamu harus mencintai dirimu sendiri. Tidak ada yang akan mencintaimu jika kamu saja membencinya," ujar Asta.
